Rubber Scrapers

Rubber scrapers are sealing components commonly used in hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders to protect the system by removing dirt, external particles, moisture, or other contaminating elements from the piston rod during the operation. This scraping action ensures that hydraulic fluid does not damage seals, guide rings, or other critical components. Typically employed in linear motion applications. These scrapers come in a wide range of sizes and are suitable for diverse industrial uses.

Scrapers are available in various designs to suit specific applications, including single or double lip configurations, with or without metal reinforcement, and with options for pressure relief. The flexible sealing lip may also incorporate a metal support when higher durability is needed. Scraper rings are installed within the cylinder head and are designed to meet varying levels of resistance, depending on the application. They are widely used in general mechanical industries, especially for heavy machinery, earthmoving equipment, forklifts, presses, and other industrial machines.

Selecting the appropriate compound for the application and industry type is essential to prevent seal failure or excessive wear, which could lead to equipment malfunction. The most commonly used materials for scrapers is NBR (Nitrile Butadiene Rubber) and FPM (Fluorocarbon Rubber). NBR: Ideal for operating temperatures ranging from -40ºC to +120ºC and allows for a maximum relative rod speed of 4 m/s. NBR offers excellent resistance to hydraulic fluids, oils, lubricants, and greases. FPM: Used for higher temperatures, between 120ºC and 200ºC, or in cases of exposure to aggressive chemicals.
